motorcycles and horses

On Saturday a nice new friend of mine from our ward Karen Blood and her husband Bart let us come over for a few hours. The have some property that they let their boys ride their motorcycles on so they said we could come over and let the kids try out their new motorcycle. The motorcycle was suppose to be Emma and Jake's, but after Saturday I think it will be just Jake's. Emma didn't like it so much and said she would rather stick with riding her quad. Jake was happy about that. Matt gave Brandon a quick ride on the motorcyle too. After everyone had a chance to ride the motorcycle Karen and Bart let the kids feed the horses and goat. They were even so kind as to saddle up a horse and give us a ride around the arena. I think the kids had a fun time. Brandon liked the horse the most and you could even get him to say "yeehaw" while riding the horse. Thanks Bart and Karen.

Chain of Love

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!
My choice.
For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make for you!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year.
4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a song. It may be a self portrait or maybe even some creation I haven't yet dreamed up. I may draw. I may bake you something and mail it to you. It may not be big or impressive. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! But lets be honest here. This is me and I will likely do something amazing. =) So come on, sign up!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to post this same blog on their blog and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Let's keep the chain of love going around!!

Brandon-ism

Yesterday we were walking in the house and as usual you could hear airplanes flying overhead. I said to Brandon "we need to go in the house and clean your nose out I can hear your boogers (sp?)" To which Brandon replied, "You can't hear my boogers you hear an airplane." This kid cracks me up.

Jake and "The Armor of God"

Matt was in charge of Family Home Evening a couple of weeks back and he chose to do the lesson on the armor of God. So with Jake's help they gave a great lesson. Jake has his "loins girt about with truth" (Matt's motorcycling backbrace), "breastplate of righteousness" (Jake's chest protector), "feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace" (Jake's riding boots), "shield of faith" (homemade shield), "helmet of salvation" (Jake's riding helmet), and "the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God." (toy sword). I think Jake got the most out of the lesson. By the way you can find "The Armor of God" in Ephesians 6:11-17.

Happy Valentine's Day to me!!

For Valentine's day Matt had beautiful flowers delivered to me. I actually got them a few days before Valentine's and they are still going strong and looking great a week later. They are beautiful bouquet so I thought I would share them with you. Plus I am bragging a little that my sweet husband sent me flowers.
