Choir performance and School Awards

Emma has been in the school choir all year and they finally had their concert the week before school was out. (Yes, I know I am about 2 weeks behind schedule, leave me alone I am enjoying my summer.) Anyway the choir only sang about 7 songs and they were all great. This is Emma and her choir/music teacher Ms. Cazzaza.

Emma played the tabano for one of the songs. She had fun doing that too.
At the awards assembly Emma received Principal's Honor Roll for straight A's again for the 3rd time. She kept straight A's all year long. She got a Good Attendance award and a certificate for participating in the spelling bee.

Jake received Principal's Honor Roll as well and kept straight A's all year long too. He got a Great Attendance award and a certificate for participating in the spelling bee.
I am not sure where I got such smart kids. They must get it from their dad.

Always of course if Emma and Jake are getting their pictures taken then Brandon wants his picture taken too. So here he is... Sadly, I actually had him pose for this picture. He does this move a lot around the house. I am sure I would throw my back out if I attempted such a thing.

Fun day with the family

Saturday we took the kids to Bass Pro Shops. All summer they are having FREE workshops and FREE activities like, shooting, fishing, and archery to name a few on Saturday and Sunday. The kids had a great time and also got a FREE picture taken. They had to stand in front of this back drop and pretend to hold up their "catch". Then 2 days later I was able to download their super imposed picture with the fish. Funny thing is...fishing is the one outdoor sport we actually don't do. But I still think the pictures are cute.

Sadly these are the only pictures I got of the adventure to Bass Pro Shops because once again I forgot my camera. After we left Bass Pro Shops we went to the MGM Grand hotel and casino to see the MGM lions. We got there just in time for feeding time. The people feeding the lions would throw the meat on the windows of their cage so we could watch the lions lick or eat the food off the window. I can't decide if that was gross or cool. The kids enjoyed the quick trip.
Again their are no photos of this event because I still did not have my camera. I will try to do better next time.

Piano Recital

Emma and Jake have been taking piano lesson for a little over a year with a short break when we moved to Las Vegas. Their piano teacher here is Emily Hilton. She is in our ward. Emma and Jake really enjoy her as a teacher and want to continue taking piano lessons, so I guess that is a compliment to Emily. They had their first recital with Emily on May 30th. I only took pictures of them at the recital. One day I will record them playing their recital pieces. Jake played a song from Star Wars and a song called "Magic Man".

Emma played a Sonatina and a song from "The Sound of Music".

They both did a great job. The best part of the recital was the fact that it was only 15 minutes long. Emily only has 4 students right now. I love those kind of recitals.
