Kids say the darndest things

So in the last couple of days my boys have said some funny things so I thought I would share them with you. For those of you who don't know when Brandon turned 2 in May he could only say 5 words. He finally started talking last August. He now never stops talking. He must be making up for lost time. Anyway, the other day I was on the phone making a quick phone call and he walked up to me and said "Mom, get off phone, talk me." It was so funny and shocked me that he said so much that I could understand I had to ask him to say it again. It may not seem much to you but it was a huge thing for Brandon to say. Now for Jake. He said "Mom, on a scale from 1 to 10 how hard is your job as a mom?" As I was thinking of my answer he said "Is it so hard that sometimes you just want to be a dad?" I laughed outloud to that one and made sure to tell Matt what he said. To answer his question...No I don't want to be a dad, I love being a mom.

We keep our boys haircut very short. Pretty much buzzed military style. We bought a clipper set to do the haircuts ourself. The little cape that comes with the set was a joke so we came up with our own cape. A garbage bag. We cut a hole in the bottom, stick the boys head through it and tape it up in the back. It worked awesome. Maybe I should patented the idea. Below you can see Brandon modeling it for you.

Matt's birthday was January 22. He isn't really into cake so we made him a banana cream pie instead. (it is his favorite) He blew out the one candle we put in the pie and then Brandon decided it was time to eat the pie so he grabbed his spoon and started digging in the whole pie. It was funny.
Here are a list of 10 things that make Matt great and why we love him.
1. He has a funny laugh when he thinks something is really hilarious.
2. He is a very hardworker.
3. He is a worthy priesthood holder.
4. He keeps the garage very organized.
5. He is Mr. Fixit. He can fix anything and builds all kinds of things.
6. He takes good care of the cars and all the toys.
7. He loves his kids and loves to buy them things.(this one is Jake's)
8. He takes us lots of places. (this one is Emma's)
9. He loves to wrestle with the kids (this one is Brandon's)
10.He thinks I am hot. (this one is mine)

While my brother Michael was here over New Years he was fixing my computer. Well I had left my camera on my desk, so he decided to take a few pictures of himself. I told him I would be posting them on my blog. So here they are. Enjoy.

New Years fun

We had part of my family come down from Utah to visit for a few days over New Years. My brother Michael, his wife Michelle, their 3 kids, Preston, Monroe, James and my dad came. We ate lots of yummy food. Played lots of games and went camping out to Logandale. It is about an hour north of Las Vegas for those of you who do not know where it is. It is partly sand dunes and red rock. It is fun to ride in and to hike around. We did a little of both. It was a little cold though so we didn't stay long. We had a great visit with everyone and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins.
