Brandon Says...

And now for a few funny things Brandon has said lately. Last night the kids were trying to decide on a movie for us all to watch. They had picked Gremlins, Brandon picked up the DVD case and said "That movie is freaky". What? Where did he learn that and has he even seen Gremlins? Who knows.

Today he wet his pants and so I gave him a bath and then decided it was time for him to take a nap so I laid down by him and started talking to him before I read him some stories. I said, "Next time you body tells you that you have to go potty you need to tell mommy so we can get you to the bathroom." To which he replied very concerned "My body doesn't have a mouth."

And finally, we have a small 5X7 picture of the Savior on our kitchen counter. While we were eating dinner tonight Matt asked him if he knew who that was in the picture. He said "Jesus from church". Apparently he only learns about Jesus in church. Better fix that one quick. Love that kid he keeps us lauging and smiling all the time.

Primary Little League

Let me just start by saying that the pictures of Emma and Jake are really bad because I could not zoom in any further and I was not about to run out to the field just to get a good picture. Okay so anyway, Emma and Jake are involved in our Stake Primary Little League which I think is so awesome!! It is for 8 weeks every Thurdsay from 5-8pm. It is held at a ball field behind one of the church buildings in our stake. It only takes 15 mins. to get there. We take our picnic dinner with us or buy food there. They have a concession stand too. The kids are on seperate teams but play their games at different times so that works out great for me. It is tons of fun and the kids are having a blast. Oh did I mention that is was FREE!!! There truly is nothing to complain about. Okay maybe the bleachers. I worry I am going to get a sliver in my bum every time I sit down. Some scout needs to do any Eagle project on the bleachers. I will try to take better pictures next week with a better zoom lense.

You may have asked (or may not), what does Brandon do the whole 3 hours while Emma and Jake play baseball? He usually sits by me the 1st couple of hours and then he starts wondering and ends up playing with other kids on the grass. However, last week he kept playing "dead". See picture below. He would lay there for 10 minutes at a time waiting for someone to find him and then bring him to the "doctor" whoever wanted to be the doctor. He did this for a solid 45 mintues I kid you not. I would catch him sometimes running and then falling into this position and lay there for a minute and get up and run again only to fall down "dead" again. I have no idea what he was doing but it kept him entertained which I thought was awesome.

Emma and Reverend Jesse D. Scott

So Emma and I attended the dedication of her new school on April 14th. The whole school was not invited because there would not have been enough room for everyone to come. It was sort of an invitation only event. Emma was in the program as member of the choir as well as the student body president. She is pictured here with another member of the choir who also happens to be a friend, Chad Matthes and Jesse D. Scott. The choir sang 4 songs. As the student body president she lead the pledge of alligence, dedicated the school by saying, "we dedicate this school", and presented Reverend Jesse D. Scott with some gifts from the school. It was a fun night for her and will be a great memory.

The Many Adventures of Brandon

I have been trying to take more pictures of the kids. Brandon is obviously around more so he gets his picture taken more often. I am sure it has something to do with the fact that he has been doing a lot of interesting and funny things the last few days. Here is what Brandon has been doing: Putting away the silverware from the dishwasher. He actually asked to help. I wish I took a picture when he was done. It was so funny to see where he decided everything should go.

He has also been enjoying his Easter candy. This is a lik-a- stick that he decided to pour on the kitchen table and make circles in. Fun huh?
Matt had his Remecaid treatment on Saturday and Brandon wanted to have an IV like dad. So Matt made him one. He wore it for over an hour. He called it his "robot arm".

And finally, Brandon has been potty trained for 3 weeks now and doing really great. He needed to go "poo-poo" so I helped him on the potty and told him to call me when he was done. He was busy talking and singing in the bathroom for 5-10 minutes but seemed very content so I left him in the bathroom. I finally asked him if he was done and he said he was so, I went to the bathroom to help him and this is what I found.
Just look at all the fun an almost 3 year old can get into. Brandon is so fun to have around when he is not whining, crying or throwing a fit. Did I mention he is almost 3? Just kidding. I love that little boy more than words can say.

Easter Weekend

First we decorated eggs on Saturday night. Here are the kids with all their creations. They only got to make 4 eggs because I am cheap and did not want to boil more than a dozen eggs.

Saturday night before bed the kids set out their Easter baskets for the Easter bunny to bring their treats etc. Boy did the Easter bunny deliver. Everyone seemed very pleased with what they found in their basket which were among other things, books, toys and as usual way too much candy.
Then we all got ready for church and of course we had to take the traditional Easter picture before church. This used to be because everyone got new Easter clothes. Emma was the only one that got something new this year. Boys are just not that fun to dress up and they really don't care either I have learned.

After church we had fun making dinner. It seems like every Christmas and Easter we have ham and cheesy potatoes. I guess it is a tradition. I thought I would do something fun this Easter so I made the jello look like bunnies eating grass. Can you tell? The kids got a kick out of it so I guess it is mission accomplished.

And finally the egg hunt. We hid all the eggs the Easter bunny brought plus the 12 boiled eggs the kids decorated. After the hunt was over we counted up all the eggs only to discover we were missing one boiled egg. Oh that is bad. So we all went on a real hunt to find the missing egg. It took us a good 5 minutes or so to find the egg that most of us walked past a few times without seeing. Having a boiled egg go rotten in my house is not the kind of Easter memory I want to have.

As you can see Brandon is working hard at getting an egg out of the pocket of the pool table.
We had a nice Easter weekend and among all the fun tried to remember the real reason we celebrate Easter. To remember the Atonement of our Savior and the miracle of the resurrection.

School Awards

Emma and Jake had an awards assembly the week before spring break. They both were on the Principal's Honor Roll for having all A's. Only Emma received a good attendance award. Poor Jake has missed too many days being sick. We are very proud of them for all their hard work at school.

Kung Fu Panda

Jake had a book report due last week. He was given a small wooden spoon and was told to make it look like a character from a book he had read. He also had to do a little written report. He chose Po from Kung Fu Panda. We didn't end up making Po fat but he still turned out cute. I think Jake was pleased with the end result.
